The countdown is on for this year’s Airdrie Fair Day. This one-day annual event is back on Saturday the 30th of June to fill the town centre with joy and life, while bolstering the sense of community.
From 10 am to 4 pm, attractions and stalls will be open to the public in the pedestrian area of Graham St and other town centre streets that will be closed to traffic for the day. Funfair rides and inflatables, a smoothie bike, face-painters and a magician are among the most popular attractions for children.
But Airdrie Fair Day has something for everyone: fans of dance and music will have the chance to enjoy the numerous performances as part of the stage entertainment programme, and even to join some fitness demos. MC Steve McKenna will be hosting the stage, live from 11 am onwards.
Residents and visitors will be able to engage with various stallholders from diverse companies and organisations, such as Airdrie Food Bank, Airdrieonians FC Trust and one of the event sponsors, NHS Health and Social Care.
Local businesses and retailers will also have a presence at Airdrie Fair Day, like Albert Bartlett, one of the largest UK potato suppliers and also a regular sponsor of this event. Shops and charities will have the chance to come out to the streets to showcase their products and attract customers to their premises. That is precisely one of the foundations of this well-established event: to boost local businesses by increasing the footfall in the town centre.
On top of that, Airdrie Fair Day is now a renowned and unmissable occasion for many people in Airdrie, North Lanarkshire and beyond; a great day out for friends and families to celebrate the beginning of the summer and immerse into the communal spirit. No tickets or bookings required, just pop along and enjoy!
